Chinese Windows-supporting systems serve two functions: They provide English-language versions of Windows 95/98/ME with an environment in which users can process Chinese, and use various popular keyboard-based inputting methods, such as Pinyin and Zhuyin. If you use Windows 2000/XP, you do not need an additional system that supports Chinese. But if you are used to any of those keyboard inputting methods, you may find it handy to have those systems as your inputting methods.
